Kneeling, bending every knee

Praising His greatness, Amen!

Justice sown from righteous decrees

Breathing with hope’s newfound freedom

Witnessing God’s mighty moves

Praising daily in worship

Mercy arrives, His Son approves

Riding donkey, comes humble King

Tasting His merciful grace

Praising faith’s new covenant

Heaven’s goodness, let all embrace

Commanding nations, take notice

Setting every sinner free

Praising repeal of darkness

Throughout earth’s many lands and seas

Sounding faith’s endless trumpet

Protecting with blessed light

Praising God’s lasting greatness

Eternal daylight covers night

Monday Memories: Worship and Praise

From John 4:23-24:  [Jesus is speaking] “But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father seeks such as these to worship Him.  God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Praising with faith the Sabbath, the Lord’s Day

But, our lives needing to connect in other ways

Worshipping each day, receiving God’s serenity

Setting aside daily moments, faithful identity

Reading Scripture from the Lord’s Holy Word

Praying, praising, giving thanks—voices heard

Coming to the Lord with sincere-filled thoughts

Spending time with Him, connecting life’s dots

Sowing seeds of worship and praise with our God

Transforming by His love, perfect and unflawed

Reaping abounding harvest, singing with gladness

Witnessing God’s sacred harmony, never sadness

Filling our hungry hearts, opening up our minds

Listening to our Lord, He comes and truly finds

Faith’s New Song

From Psalm 98:1:  “O sing to the Lord a new song, for He has done marvelous things.  His right hand and His holy arm have gotten Him victory.”

Photo by cottonbro studio on Pexels.com

Praising God in Heaven

Faith’s new song

Singing of His goodness

Always strong

Revealing steadfast love

Mercy rings

Sharing faith’s victory

Christ, our King

Marking each joyful note

Faith sings out

Resounding with trumpets

Grace shall shout

Hearing all oceans roar

Faith claps hands

Coming of our Savior

As God planned

Breathing with His delight

Spirit sings

Shepherding every lamb

Faith’s wellspring

Monday Memories: Morning Praise

From Proverbs 3:26:  “For the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught.”

This early morning time

Brings moments of praise

Spirits gather to climb

Warmed by the sun’s rays

God’s Word speaks out

With wisdom and clout

Another day appears ready

Feet will not stumble

God’s Word marches steady

Never afraid to tumble

God’s Word speaks out

With wisdom and clout

For the humble receive

God’s favor and love

Avoid those who deceive

Look to Heaven above

God’s Word speaks out

With wisdom and clout

Arise, prepared for the Lord

He’s endlessly in control

Arming all with His sword

Leading us out on patrol

God’s Word speaks out

With wisdom and clout

This morn sings a song

Filling with God’s praises

One cannot be wrong

With Salvation, He raises

God’s Word speaks out

With wisdom and clout

Nourish us right now

God’s manna is ready

Take a knee and bow

He keeps us steady

God’s Word speaks out

With wisdom and clout

Our day comes alive

From God’s trusting light

Allowing us to thrive

‘Til day becomes night

God’s Word arrives at dawn

Always full, never gone

Our Father’s World

From John 4:13-14:  “Jesus said to her, ‘Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but those who drink of the water that I will give them will never be thirsty.  The water that I will give will become in them a spring of water gushing up to eternal life.'”

Waking up each morning

Running to look outside

Father’s world always waits

His purpose never hides

Listening, nature sings

Filling creation’s peace

Father’s world shares our hope

His labors never cease

Walking in His presence

Feeling trust ever grow

Father’s world honors life

His living water flows

Witnessing earthly wrongs

Perplexing sadness builds

Father’s world reaches out

His hands mold to rebuild

Praising God high above

Renewing faith’s wellspring

Father’s world reigns beyond

His Word forever rings

This poem was influenced by the beloved hymn, “This is My Father’s World.”  Inspired by the scenery of upper state New York’s Lake Ontario and Niagara Falls, American pastor and Christian writer, Maltbie D. Babcock, wrote a poem.  Following his death, his wife published the poem which later became the lyrics for this well-known hymn.
