Many Christians today are trying to find a shortcut to a closer relationship with the Father. But intimacy takes times and effort; knowing God better is a lifelong pursuit.
From Psalm 63:5-7: “My soul is satisfied as with a rich feast, and my mouth praises you with joyful lips when I think of you on my bed, and meditate on you in the watches of the night; for you have been my help, and in the shadow of your wings I sing for joy.”
From 1 John 4:6: “We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us, and whoever is not from God does not listen to us. From this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.”
Scanning heavens above
Creation’s North Star glows
Lighting vast galaxies
Love ignites us to grow
God’s love shines among us
Brighter than any star
Abiding in each child
Overcoming life’s scars
Father’s love leading us
Peace and justice shall reign
Fearlessly, tirelessly
Healing hearts without pain
Christ sent by His Father
God comes to earth as Man
Spirit walking with grace
Love ignites us, Lord’s plan
From 1 John 4:18-19: “There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear; for fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not reached perfection in love. We love because He first loved us.”
There is no pit so deep that God’s love is not deeper still.
From Psalm 100:4-5: “Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name. For the Lord is good; His steadfast love endures forever, and His faithfulness to all generations.”
From Psalm 19:14: “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.”
Lofty heavens proclaiming
God’s awesome, mighty glory
Creation’s lasting showcase
His handiwork, our story
From day to day, night to night
Our Lord’s knowledge powers forth
His Spirit sustaining life
Praising His glory, henceforth
Covering soaring heavens
Faithful sunrise to sunset
Life manifests on this earth
Walking within God’s mindset
Nothing hidden from God’s eyes
Realm filled with wisdom and truth
His law always runs perfect
Commandments shout with pure truth
Coming forward, fear our Lord
Following Holy decrees
More precious than finest gold
Sweeter than honey, shall please

You can talk to God because God listens . . . intently, carefully.
From Psalm 142:1: “With my voice I cry to the Lord; with my voice I make supplication to the Lord.”
Though I have walked with God for several decades, I must confess I still find much about Him incomprehensible and mysterious. But this much I know: He delights in surprising us. He dots our pilgrimage from earth to heaven with amazing serendipities.
From Psalm 145:16: “You open your hand, satisfying the desire of every living thing.”
Life’s richest treasures, waiting just ahead
Following God’s true light to a new day
Unlike any of man’s earthly treasures
With God’s Spirit, angels leading the way
Our journey defined by something greater
Life can only be measured by God’s wealth
Allowing heart and soul to follow God
Our Father’s treasured Grace, restores our health
Rejoicing, now choosing God’s truthful way

People, places, and things were never meant to give us life. God alone is the author of a fulfilling life.
From Psalm 23:5-6: “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord my whole life long.“
From Deuteronomy 6:4-5: “Hear, O Israel: The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.”
Busy with daily lives
Pausing now, do you hear?
As God listens, we should
Opening minds and ears
As God’s chosen, come close
Father waits with patience
Intently, carefully
Despite our impatience
Read His Word with earnest
Focus on, meditate
God’s living stone, breathing
Do you hear Him, so great?
His mercy chooses us
With never-ending love
Calling us from darkness
Finding God’s grace above
Face each hour with new hope
Follow with faithful steps
Lives chosen and precious
God waits at our doorstep
From 1 Peter 2:9-10: “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s own people, in order that you may proclaim the mighty acts of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.”

Old Man Trouble talking

Lord’s unbreakable rope
