Monday Memories: Worthy Soldier

From 2 Timothy 2:3-4: “Share in suffering like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No one serving in the army gets entangled in everyday affairs; the soldier’s aim is to please the enlisting officer.”

Born as blessed children of God

Learning the Bible’s sacred truth

Strong in grace of Savior Jesus

Worthy soldier matures from youth

Listening to God’s witnesses

Faithful, Godly people speaking

Maturing in Father’s Spirit

Daily blessings from Christ’s teachings

Humbly serving in God’s army

Following footsteps, walked by Christ

Bolstered by our own suffering

Clutching faith, never underpriced

Our Father’s way, rich truth to say

Bringing total understanding

His Holy Word comes without chains

Gospel, forever commanding

From 2 Timothy 2:11-13:  “The saying is sure:  If we have died with Him, we will also live with Him; if we endure, we will also reign with Him; if we deny Him, He will also deny us; if we are faithless, He remains faithful—for He cannot deny Himself.”

My worth to God in public is what I am in private.  Is my master ambition to please Him and be acceptable to Him, or is it something less, no matter how humble.

From 2 Corinthians 5:6-9:  “So we are always confident, even though we know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord—for we walk by faith, not by sight.  Yes, we do have confidence, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.  So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to be pleasing to Him.

Monday Memories: Are We Worthy?

Feeling lost, alone, and unworthy

Walking forward to seek God

Questioning and asking, crying out

Gathering together, we trust God

Seeking Christ must come first

Contrasting himself to the Messiah

Foretelling of the One coming

Crying out in the wilderness

Baptizing believers at the Jordan

Sending John to baptize Jesus

Sensing himself to be unworthy

Finding Christ must come first

Expressing love now for family

Adoring father, mother, son, daughter

Returning from his sinful journey

Rejoicing, a prodigal son found

Suffering dishonor for Christ’s sake

Preaching, Apostles speak the Gospel

Loving Christ must come first

Accepting God’s gift of Grace

Blessing us as worthy Christians

Coming to believe Christ’s Salvation

Humbling praising His blessed truth

Creating all things, God cares

Receiving glory, honor, and power

Standing alone at the Cross

Ransoming His body and blood

Loving and accepting our Savior
