Can you hear the Lord calling?
Accepting His grace

This re-edited poem, written in July, 2019, features an effortless style. The verses are structured with simplicity because this should be how love exists . . . simple and pure!

Love Conquers
Finding its way
With words to say
Boundless and rich
Love conquers
Despite distances great
Unlocking its fate
With faithful hope
Love conquers
Awakens each morn
Feels like being reborn
Lasts and lasts
Love conquers
Between two hearts
Eager for new start
Together at last
Love conquers
Each special day
Adventure comes our way
Exciting and endless
Love conquers
Thoughts to savor
Bringing each a favor
As sunrise arrives
Love conquers
Arriving without sound
Loving actions abound
Every special moment
Love conquers
Forgetting life’s past
Bringing smiles to last
Faithful and forgiving
Love conquers
God’s at hand
Footprints in the sand
Reigns into Eternity

Not everything that is faced can be changed. But nothing can be changed until it is faced.
For nothing is fixed, forever and forever, it is not fixed; the earth is always shifting, the light is always changing, the sea does not cease to grind down rock.
American-born James A. Baldwin (1924-1987) wrote a variety of works in novels, essays, short stories, and plays. He was also an active participant in the civil rights movement during the 1960s.
From Psalm 90:1-2: “Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.”

From Genesis 9:11-13: “‘I establish my covenant with you, that never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of a flood, and never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.’ God said, ‘This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations: I have set my bow in the clouds, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth.'”

God is looking over the entire earth for men who have the proper attitude toward money and who will use it according to His direction and not according to their own interests.
From 1 Timothy 6:10: “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, and in their eagerness to be rich some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pains.”

To feel most beautifully alive means to be reading something beautiful.
True poetry is a function of awakening. It awakens us, but it must remain the memory of previous dreams.
Gaston Bachelard (1884-1962) contributed to French culture as a philosopher. His writings are quite extensive.
From the words of American pastor and Christian teacher, Charles Stanley: “When we trust God to provide the stamina for the work He calls us to do, we are clothed in power.”

Walking these roads for so long
Sin short-circuits dusty steps
Trust’s gauge running on empty
Darkness knocking at doorstep
Facing life’s tall shortcomings
Empty promises sell short
Holy Spirit calling now
Time to seek Father’s support
Hearing faithful promises
His Spirit brings fortitude
Truly believe, seeking Him
Bread of Life, God’s daily food
Turning to Jesus Christ
Living water quenches thirst
Savior clothes with grace-filled love
His promises, always first
Strengthening life’s weaknesses
Holy promises bring light
Eyes open, hearts enlightened
New life trusts in Father’s might

From Luke 24:49: “And see, I am sending upon you what my Father promised; so stay here in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”
Coffee’s sunrise treat
Certainly tastes much better—
From favorite mug

Overnight snowfall
Mountaintop’s deepest powder—
Skiers’ paradise

Winter’s impromptu
Out-of-school experience—
Another snow day!

We never shape the world . . . the world shapes us.
Make a difference about something other than yourselves.
Ohio-born Toni Morrison (1931-2019) experienced the ultimate tributes given any novelist when she received the Pulitzer Prize in 1988 for her ground-breaking novel BELOVED and the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1993. Her many awards and published works were a testament to her gifts as a writer.

Every noble work is at first impossible.
It is the heart always that sees, before the head can see.
