The world makes all kinds of promises about love, acceptance, and self-worth, but they never last.  Only Jesus can fill our empty souls for eternity.

From John 4:13-14:  “Jesus said to her, ‘Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but those who drink of the water that I will give them will never be thirsty.  The water that I will give will become in them a spring of water gushing up to eternal life.'”

Monday Memories: Carry Our Burdens

Walking

With weariness

Life’s heavy burdens

Causing missteps and stumbles

Coming

With light

Our Lord shines

Trusting always in Him

Casting

Our burdens

Upon His shoulders

Jesus will sustain us

Gentle

In spirit

Humble in heart

He will deliver us

Righteous

Reigning above

Immovable spirit

Lessens our taxing burdens

Jesus

Sending protection

The Good Shepherd

Caring for His flock

Sin

Washed away

By Christ’s blood

Our burdens grow lighter

Accepting

His Salvation

Following Jesus Christ

Our Lord and Savior

Patiently

Jesus waits

We come forward

Bearing one another’s burdens

Praying

With devotion

For one another

Reborn again through Christ

Christ

We believe

Follow God’s Son

Victory over our sins

I am not moved by what I see.  I am moved only by what I believe.

From John 11:25-27:  “Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life.  Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die.  Do you believe this?’  She said to Him, ‘Yes, Lord, I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, the one coming into the world.'”

Life’s Firm Foundation

From Psalm 62:1-2:  “For God alone my soul waits in silence; from Him comes my salvation.  He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall never be shaken.”

World’s foundations often shake

Failure crashes upon lives

Fragile planet in distress

How will we ever survive?

Earthly alliances break

Financial systems crater

Globe overwhelmed in turmoil

Where is our navigator?

Life’s storms never-ending

Future stands on wobbly ground

Weakest foundations crumbling

Who can help us to rebound?

Sharing His love, comes Jesus

Delivering freedom’s grace

Gathering in God’s fortress

Accepting Christ, let’s embrace

Rising from dark, empty tomb

Sitting at Father’s right hand

Saving us, Christ carries us

Life’s firm foundation shall stand

From Psalm 62:11-12:  “Once God has spoken; twice have I heard this:  that power belongs to God, and steadfast love belongs to you, O Lord.  For you repay to all according to their work.”

Believe

From John 14:6-7:  “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.  If you know me, you will know my Father also. From now on you do know Him and have seen Him.”

Jesus, Son of Man

Healing and teaching

But, He’s so much more

God’s love, far-reaching

Believe and accept

Jesus, Son of God

Lamb, without blemish

Sinless and unflawed

Primary mission

Save this fallen world

Holy and divine

Savior’s love unfurled

Born in Bethlehem

Calvary’s cross waits

Unselfish journey

Christ accepts His fate

Father, Son, Spirit

Trinity in One

Path to truth and life

Darkness on the run

From John 10:29-30:  “What my Father has given me is greater than all else, and no one can snatch it out of the Father’s hand.  The Father and I are one.”

When Jesus Christ is the source of our joy, no words can describe it.

From Philippians 4:4-7:  “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice.  Let your gentleness be known to everyone.  The Lord is near.  Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.  And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Always First

From Exodus 20:1-3:  “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery; you shall have no other gods before Me.”

Jesus tempted by Satan

Making His choice very clear

Placing Father always first

Walking in trust, without fear

Moses affirming God’s law

Following the Great I Am

Leading Israel to truth

Bearing faith of Abraham

God deserves our attention

Casting away sinful ways

Stepping in footprints of Christ

Hearing treasured Word each day

Always first, focus on God

Needing Christ’s mercy and love

Entering Kingdom’s blessings

Forgiving call from above

From Psalm 100:1-2:  “Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.  Worship the Lord with gladness; come into His presence with singing.”

We have to keep letting go, and slowly and surely the great full life of God will invade us in every part, and men will take knowledge of us that we have been with Jesus.

From Romans 6:9-11:  “We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over Him.  The death He died, He died to sin, once for all; but the life He lives, He lives to God.  So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.”
