Redemption’s Seed

From Genesis 15:5-6:  “He brought him [Abram] outside and said, ‘Look toward heaven and count the stars, if you are able to count them.’  Then He said to him, ‘So shall your descendants be.’  And he believed the Lord, and the Lord reckoned it to him as righteousness.”

Salvation’s Key

From Joel 2:12-13:  “Yet even now, says the Lord, return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning; rend your hearts and not your clothing.  Return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, abounding in steadfast love, and relenting from punishment.”

Earth quakes, full of darkness

Wilderness surrounds thee

Wayward steps, no escape

Misplacing salvation’s key

Hope dwells in empty faith

Where is God’s gracious love?

Enemy’s fire burns bright

Obscuring Spirit above

Each transgression concealed

Yet, God views every one

Righteous breath covers land

Offering grace to outrun

Heart fills with repentance

Every sin be confessed

God’s forgiveness shall come

Redeeming faith’s final quest

Christ waits at Calvary

Hidden in faith’s Good News

Hope’s new pathway of peace

Offering love to infuse

From Proverbs 28:13:  “No one who conceals transgressions will prosper, but one who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.”

Monday Memories: Finding New Life

From 2 Corinthians 11:13-14:  “For such boasters are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.  And no wonder!  Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.”

Facing life’s harshest trials

Walking uphill in shadows

Keeping on the proper trail

Coveting greener meadows

Suffering darkest ordeals

Praying for divine advice

Listening for God’s response

Willing to pay any price

Hiding off the path, waiting

Offering cunning, false hope

Sliding into Satan’s net

Reaching up for rescue’s rope

Clutching God’s forgiving hand

Leaving the enemy’s grip

Finding new life with the Lord

Walking in His fellowship

From Romans 6:22-23:  “But now that you have been freed from sin and enslaved to God, the advantage you get is sanctification.  The end is eternal life.  For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Mercy’s Steadfast Rock

From Nehemiah 8:9:  “And Nehemiah, who was the governor, and Ezra the priest and scribe, and the Levites who taught the people said to all the people, ‘This day is holy to the Lord your God; do not mourn or weep.’  For all the people wept when they heard the words of the law.”

Father’s Truth

Singing with praises to Father above

Filling high heavens with jubilation

Forgiving every stumble through His love

Writing righteousness on heart of each nation

Leading His people toward mercy’s light

Forsaking darkness, hidden far below

Washing away sin, with snow very white

Living where river of peace always flows

Leaving wilderness for greener ridgetop

Quenching faith’s thirst with living water

Sowing His grace among each fertile crop

Blessing family, each son and daughter

Hearing Father’s truth, spoken through His Word

Raising up eternal hope, undeterred
