Gray sky flies overhead
Winter’s cold arrives
Autumn now asleep
Chilling nature’s hard drive
Spirit fills every tree
Spring postpones her speech
Peace lands with each flake
Covering whitest beach
Silence rejoins landscape
Yet, very much alive
Transfusion hidden
Feeding grace to survive
Arctic freeze now coming
Double seal each hatch
Ship awaits next storm
Traversing icy patch
Night’s dreams seeking comfort
Winter’s frost deploys
Hope’s blanket of snow
Snuggling beneath warmth’s joy

I love how your poem makes me feel. I’ve been really nostalgic lately.

Kymber, it is wonderful to hear from you. I agree that feelings of nostalgia can fill a setting such as this one. I will continue to pray for your total recovery. God’s peace be with you.

Nice poem for the current weather headed our way. And good encouragement to remember that we are safe in the Master’s hands, no matter how freezing cold it gets.

That’s a nice use of internal rhyme to describe some of the season’s pleasures.

Linda, I appreciate your thoughtful response. I use this format quite frequently in my poetry. The key for me is to keep the verses short and concise.

There is something about that first snow of the season. To me it looks like God has used his paintbrush to clean up the ugliness underneath. Perfect symbol of His washing our souls with the blood of His own sweet Son.

Timely with the snow outside our house!

Awesome! We received about three inches of snow a week ago. Temperatures have warmed enough to melt most of it.
