Another Afternoon
Backroad’s autumn drive
Invigorating colors—
Endless leaves’ parade

Almost Gone
Farmer’s pumpkin patch
Invitation to pick some—
Harvest of orange

Cozy and Comfy
Quilted with color
Warmest blanket nearly done—
Each cascading leaf

So evocative and pleasant. Carpets of fallen leaves are as pleasing to me as trees still displaying their colored leaves; they have scent as well as color.

Dora, thank you for sharing your enthusiasm for this verse. It’s challenging to boil autumn’s breath with a few poetic thoughts. I guess this encourages any writer to continue with another fresh outlook.

Wonderful Haiku about the many splendors of Autumn! The one about the pumpkin patch is my favorite. We had lots of pumpkins in the fall on my childhood farm. Baked into pies or carved as jack-o-lanterns. Such memories!

In central Ohio, we’re enjoying the final days of autumn’s brilliant colors of yellow, orange, and red.
