Every day in a life feels the whole life with expectation and memory.
There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind.

Joy is the great note all throughout the Bible.
Joy is the serious business of heaven.
From Psalm 118:24: “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”

Christ . . . can only say to every group of Christian friends, “Ye have not chosen one another but I have chosen you for one another.”
From Proverbs 27:17: “Iron sharpens iron, and one person sharpens the wits of another.”

Aim at heaven and you will get earth thrown in; aim for earth and you get neither.
From Colossians 3:2: “Set your minds on the things that are above, not on the things that are on earth.”

Only the courteous can love, but it is love that makes them courteous.
From 1 Peter 4:9: “Be hospitable to one another without complaining.”

Joy is the serious business of Heaven.
From Philippians 4:4-5: “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near.”

You have not chosen one another, but I have chosen you for one another.
There is no greater happiness for a man than approaching a door at the end of a day knowing someone on the other side of that door is waiting for the sound of his footsteps.

God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there. There is no such thing.
From Psalm 23:5-6: “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”

You must ask for God’s help. After each failure, ask forgiveness, pick yourself up, and try again.
From Psalm 111:10: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding. His praise endures forever.”

The process of living seems to consist in coming to realise truths so ancient and simple that, if stated, they sound like barren platitudes. They cannot sound otherwise to those who have not had the relevant experience.
From Proverbs 13:20: “Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools suffers harm.”
