God makes us broken bread and poured-out wine to please Himself.  To be separated unto the Gospel means to hear the call of God.

From 1 Corinthians 9:16:  “If I proclaim the Gospel, this gives me no ground for boasting, for an obligation is laid on me, and woe to me if I do not proclaim the Gospel!”

There are whole tracts of stubbornness and ignorance to be revealed by the Holy Spirit in each of us, and it can only be done when Jesus gets us alone.

From Mark 4:10-12:  “When He [Jesus] was alone, those who were around Him along with the twelve asked Him about the parables.  And He said to them, ‘To you has been given the secret of the kingdom of God, but for those outside, everything comes in parables; in order that they may indeed look, but not perceive, and may indeed listen, but not understand; so that they may not turn again and be forgiven.'”

When a man is born again, he knows that it is because he has received something as a gift from Almighty God and not because of his own decision.

From Acts 26:17-18:  [Jesus is speaking to Saul] “I will rescue you from your people and from the Gentiles–to whom I am sending you to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.”

Am I as spontaneously kind to God as I used to be, or am I only expecting God to be kind to me?  Am I full of the little things that cheer His heart over me, or am I whimpering because things are going hardly with me?  There is no joy in the soul that has forgotten what God prizes.

If, as I recall what God remembers about me, I find He is not what He used to be to me, let it produce shame and humiliation, because that shame will bring the godly sorrow that works repentance.

Taken from the text found in Oswald Chambers’ MY UTMOST FOR HIS HIGHEST:  “Recall What God Remembers.”

From Jeremiah 2:1-2:  “The Word of the Lord came to me, saying:  ‘Go and proclaim in the hearing of Jerusalem, Thus says the Lord:  I remember the devotion of your youth, your love as a bride, how you followed me in the wilderness, in a land now sown.

Keep your life so constant in its contact with God that His surprising power may break out on the right hand and on the left.  Always be in a state of expectancy, and see that you leave room for God to come in as He likes.

From Galatians 1:15-16:  “But when God, who had set me apart before I was born and called me through His grace, was pleased to reveal His Son to me, so that I might proclaim Him among the Gentiles.”

When we are born again we all have visions, if we are spiritual at all, of what Jesus wants us to be, and the great thing is to learn not to be disobedient to the vision, not to say that it cannot be attained.

From Acts 26:16:  [Jesus is speaking to Saul on the Damascus road] “But get up and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to appoint you to serve and testify to the things in which you have seen and to those in which I will appear to you.”

God’s call is expressive of His nature; consequently when I receive His nature and hear His call, the voice of the Divine nature sounds in both and the two work together.  The Son of God reveals Himself in me, and I serve Him in the ordinary ways of life out of devotion to Him.

From Galatians 1:15-16:  “But when God, who had set me apart before I was born and called me through His grace, was pleased to reveal His Son to me, so that I might proclaim Him among the Gentiles.”

To serve God is the deliberate love-gift of a nature that has heard the call of God.

From Galatians 1:15-16:  “But when God, who had set me apart before I was born and called me through His Grace, was pleased to reveal His Son to me, so that I might proclaim Him among the Gentiles, I did not confer with any human being.”

The only way we can be of use to God is to let Him take us through the crooks and crannies of our own characters.

From Mark 4:33-34:  “With many such parables He spoke the Word to them, as they were able to hear it; He did not speak to them except in parables, but He explained everything in private to His disciples.”

Cleansing from sin is to the very heights and depths of our spirit if we will keep in the light as God is in the light, and the very Spirit that fed the life of Jesus Christ will feed the life of our spirits.

From 1 Thessalonians 5:23:  “May the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be kept sound and blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

From Psalm 139:11-12:  “If I say, ‘Surely the darkness shall cover me, and the light around me become night,’ even the darkness is not dark to you; and the night is as bright as the day, for darkness is as light to you.”
