Success is more dangerous than failure, the ripples break over a wider coastline.

It is impossible to go through life without trust:  that is to be imprisoned in the worst cell of all, oneself.

Graham Greene (1904-1991) was an English writer and journalist.  He has been regarded as one of the leading novelists of the 20th century.

  1. I like the first quotation. It reminds me of a prayer that says something like, “Don’t give me too much lest I become proud and think I don’t need you, Lord. And don’t give me too little, lest I become bitter over not having enough. Give me just what I need for the day, Lord, and a little more to share with others.” (That’s a paraphrase because I cannot recall the exact words.)
