My pastor says the power of the cross is mightier than the power of the pen. (Executive orders are often short lived and undone by the next president.)

Elaine, your pastor’s thoughts share the wisdom we discover in God’s Word. In time, many executive orders fade away. The Cross always remains.

Jim, thank you for sharing your perspective. I wholeheartedly agree with Taft’s words, and they should have a place at any debate about how our system of government should function. Government can never please everyone one hundred percent of the time, and we have to look ahead with any legislation’s future consequences.

Debate is one of the strengths of Democracy. Hopefully one day we will learn to respect the opinions of others. True government cannot satisfy everyone but its impact affects everyone.
