Patience is the ability to idle your motor when you feel like stripping your gears.

From Galatians 5:22-23, 25:  “By contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.  There is no law against such things.  If we live by the Spirit, let us also be guided by the Spirit.”

Barbara Johnson (1927-2007) was an American author.  Much of her writing reflected a strong Christian faith.

This abandon to the love of Christ is the one thing that bears fruit in the life, and it will always leave the impression of the holiness and the power of God, never of personal holiness.

From 2 Corinthians 5:14-15:  “For the love of Christ urges us on, because we are convinced that one has died for all; therefore all have died.  And He died for all, so that those who live might live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died and was raised for them.”

We are identified and known by the sort of fruit, the quantity of fruit, and the quality of fruit borne out in our daily conversation, conduct, and character.

From Galatians 5:22-25:  “By contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.  There is no law against such things.  And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.  If we live by the Spirit, let us also be guided by the Spirit.
