The more difficulties one has to encounter, within and without, the more significant and the higher in inspiration his life will be.
From Hebrews 12:1: “Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us.”
I can see that being true

Romans 5:3-5 comes to mind when I read his words. My own life would be empty indeed without God’s gift of perseverance.
